Our Story
Canada Adventures was founded in 1998 by outdoor enthusiasts Marcus Thompson and Jennifer Walsh, who shared a passion for exploring Canada's pristine wilderness. What started as weekend hiking trips with friends has evolved into the country's premier active recreation company.
Our journey began in the Canadian Rockies, where Marcus and Jennifer recognized the need for professional, safety-focused outdoor experiences that could introduce people to the incredible natural beauty of Canada. They started with just two guides and basic equipment, but their commitment to excellence and environmental stewardship quickly earned them a reputation among outdoor enthusiasts.
Today, we operate across all major Canadian wilderness areas, from the Rocky Mountains to the Atlantic coastlines, offering over 150 different adventure programs. We've guided more than 15,000 adventurers through Canada's most spectacular landscapes while maintaining our founding principles of safety, sustainability, and authentic outdoor education.

With over 25 years of wilderness experience, Marcus holds advanced certifications in mountain rescue, wilderness first aid, and environmental education. His vision has shaped Canada Adventures into a leader in sustainable outdoor recreation.
Jennifer Walsh
Co-Founder & Operations Director
Jennifer brings expertise in adventure tourism management and environmental science. She oversees our guide training programs and ensures all expeditions meet the highest safety and educational standards.
David Blackstone
Head of Safety & Training
Former search and rescue coordinator with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, David develops our comprehensive safety protocols and leads advanced training for our guide team across all adventure disciplines.
Sarah Riversong
Cultural Relations Manager
A member of the Cree Nation and experienced cultural educator, Sarah ensures our programs honor indigenous traditions and territories while providing authentic cultural learning opportunities for our guests.
